Application Procedure for Admission

How long does it take to complete the Graduate Certificate Programs?

A graduate certificate will be issued after successful completion of 15 credit hours and is usually obtained in less than 3 semesters.

How long does it take to complete the Master's Program?

A Master's degree will be issued after successful completion of 30 credit hours and is usually obtained in less than 2 years.

When are the deadlines for applying to the program?

Here are program application deadlines – accepted year round

Begin the program in Fall, Spring or Summer to best meet your schedule.

Application Deadlines:

  • Fall Semester – August 1
  • Spring Semester –December 15
  • Summer Semester – April 15

If I don't have a pharmacy degree, am I still eligible to apply to the certificate program?

No, Admission requirements require a BS in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Can I start taking classes prior to matriculation into the Graduate Certificate?

No.

What are the minimum GPA requirements for admission?

The minimum GPA requirement for admission is 3.0 grade point average. However provisional admission may be granted if this criterion is not met. Once accepted, you must maintain a 3.0 GPA to remain in the program.

Is the GRE required for admission?

The GRE is not required for Graduate Certificate admission. The GRE is required for Master's program admission with a score of 290/3.0 obtained within the past 3 years. Completion of the Certificate Program allows a waiver of the GRE to apply and continue into the Master's Program.

Are letters of recommendation required to come from former teachers/professors?

We require 2 letters of recommendation – these can be written by former professors and current and former employers. Letters may also be written by others within the professional community who can provide validation of your professional and/or academic abilities.

Can International students apply?

Yes! The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of all applicants whose native language is other than English. If you have earned an undergraduate or graduate degree from a U.S. university, this requirement will be waived. The minimum score for admission is 90 on the internet-based test (IBT).

The IELTS can be taken in place of TOEFL. The minimum required IELTS score is 6.5. Foreign applicants whose transcripts are not easily read may be asked to submit a full evaluation of transcripts by a U.S. agency World Education Services is an option.
