Andrea Wall retires from College of Pharmacy

Andrea Wall, associate dean for student and alumni affairs at the University of Cincinnati (UC) James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy, will be retiring after 31 years.

She began her career as a pharmacist in 1978 after graduating from UC. She practiced in community pharmacy and long-term care prior to joining the faculty in 1988. Wall served as director of experiential education before moving into her role in the dean’s office in 2006.

Wall has been recognized for her teaching excellence and in 2001 and 2004 received the Rho Chi Faculty Excellence award. In May 2003, she was inducted into the Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Society. She was in the first cohort of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Academic Leadership Fellows Program in 2005. In 2009, she received the Keys Award from the Ohio Pharmacists Association for outstanding contributions to the practice and the association. Wall has served on the AACP Advisory Committee to PharmCAS and was chair of the AACP Task Force on Pharmacy Admissions from 2013 to 2015.

Wall has worked closely with students, faculty, staff and alumni to promote an inclusive environment for learning; and from admission to graduation, has provided education, support and mentorship to over 2,000 students.

As so many students will attest, she has left an incredible legacy, and can continue to be reached at: Wall and her husband, Michael, have established The Andrea and Michael Wall Fund for Student Life. This spendable gift fund for pharmacy students will be used to be used to support individual students or student activities that recognize fostering of an inclusive environment, respect for peers and/or focused in community outreach.  If you are interested in recognizing Andrea’s contributions to the college and contributing to this fund contact Brian Hurst at
