Class of 2016
Where did you complete your undergraduate/pre-pharmacy coursework?
I completed 2 years of undergrad at the University of Cincinnati Main Campus.
Why did you choose UC?
I chose UC because of the great pharmacy program, experiential program and location. Cincinnati is a great city and was the optimal location for my education. The university is also located near several hospitals and pharmacies providing ampule opportunities for intern/experiential learning.
If you could meet your past self and give them one sentence of advice about your first year, what would you say?
Don’t hesitate in seeking opportunities. Find a mentor and learn as much as you can from him/her.
What is the most important thing you've gained from your time at the JLW CoP?
The most important thing is all of the experience I have gained. From the classroom to organizations, I have grown so much over the past 4 years in terms of knowledge and leadership.
What are your thoughts on the city of Cincinnati?
I absolutely love Cincinnati. I am originally from a much smaller city and was afraid I would be overwhelmed with a move to a bigger city. I never felt overwhelmed and instead took the opportunity to see everything the city has to offer, which has been the time of my life! I have lived right in the middle of Clifton for 6 years now, and not had any problems – you just have to be smart and aware of your surroundings.
What does a Day in Your Life look like?
As a P4, I am currently on rotations. Each rotation differs in the responsibilities and tasks performed. Rotations may consist of rounding with the medical team, researching drug information, topic discussions with other students/pharmacists, or working in a clinic with diabetes patients/patients on warfarin among several other things.
